Hi,

I am using MSP430 UIF debugger to program msp430f5438a in ccs version 8.2. But i want to program it in ccs version 5.0. But i m getting "Tragrt not connected error". My debugger's serial number is starting with "17". later i came to know that it doesnt support in ccs v5.0.

please provide me the debugger solution to program in ccs v5.0

Hello Sharmila,

I would like to clarify with you on which debugger you are using, you said you are using MSP430 UIF (older FET debugger) but you also said your debugger's serial number is starting with "17" which indicates it is a MSP430 FET (new FET debugger). If you have the older FET debugger then you should be able to use CCS 5.0. The older debugger is not recommended for new designs and the new FET debugger does not support CCs 5.0. I would recommend you to use the new FET and debugger and update the CCS version.

Sorry, i was in a confused with with older & newer versions of debuggers. Initially i used msp fet (newer version), then i started using MSP430 UIF. Eventhough i m getting the same error, "No usb Fet found". i have attached my photo of debugger. please verify it& let me know whether i should install some usb drivers or not. But i can see that "MSP debug interface" port in device manager Please help me in this.
