MSP430FR5739: USCI SPI with DMA

Part Number: MSP430FR5739
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR5969

Hi,

a customer usecase involves using an MSP430FRxxxx device as a bridge from a SPI slave interface to a SPI master interface, data is passed from the SPI slave to the SPI master. The thought was to use an MSP430 device with a DMA to do this efficiently. My initial thought was to use an MSP430FR572x device with DMA, but then I was reading about errata DMA9 on those devices.

With the workarounds described for DMA9, is it still a recommended path to use the DMA approach with the 572x or should we look at a pure CPU based implementation?

Is there a similar MSP430 that has DMA without DMA9?

During the time of SPI slave to SPI master transfer, the power consumption does not need to be aggressively low. However a case where just the SPI master is operating sending data out, transferred ideally by DMA, the power should be very low.

What is the best recommendation?

Thanks,
