Hi Kyle,

Is this on a launchpad or custom hardware? If it's on a launchpad, is it black or red? 

In the post you referenced, they say "If I unplug the device, let it cool, then try again it usually works for a while then happens again." Is that the case for you too?

I am using a Launchpad, and it is red (the newer version I think)? I just purchased it about a month and a half ago. It has been working fine before I used the ADC module.

Actually yes, I am able to upload code to the Launchpad after letting it cool for a while. However, every time I connect the Launchpad to USB, the MSP starts to get warm and eventually I get the same error again.

Can you measure the voltage on pin 1 of IC101 (the voltage regulator) when this issue occurs?

Hi Alexis,

The output of that regulator is 3.277 V, even when the issue occurs. This seems reasonably close to the nominal 3.3 V.

Yes the voltage regulator doesn't seem to be the problem... Can you load another example that doesn't use the ADC14 module to see if the issue persists or is truly related to the ADC14 module? 

Can you also provide me the binary of your project so that i can try to reproduce the issue on my end?

Do you have any other external connections to the LaunchPad? If so can you provide a picture of your setup or a wiring diagram?

Hi Alexis,

Attached please find my CCS project directory, including the binary. I cannot upload any file to the MSP, because I am always getting the error that the XDS cannot connect (error 261).

A schematic of the external connection to the MSP is also attached. The potentiometer in the negative feedback was adjusted so that the output V_O is 2.5 V at 150 F. At room temperature, V_O was about 1.2 V.
