Secured Device, no reset possible on my target

Hello

Accidentally I set my target to Device secured. With the Debugger it is not possible to set it back. Now I can't use it any more, because a corrupt FW is loaded.

How can I reset my target. Is there a simple way to do that?

It is a MSP430F2471.

Then JTAG access is no longer possible, sorry. You can still load code to the device using the Bootstrap Loader (BSL), but for debugging purposes, you can not use this device.

On this device, the firmware is secured by physically blowing a fuse inside the JTAG circuit. After this, the JTAG interface is permanently and irreversibly nonfunctional.
You can, as Lane Westlund already pointed out, program it using the bootstrap loader (BSL), using a serial 9600Bd connection to some of the MSPs I/O pins (usually P1.0 and P1.1, plus the reset and the test pin for invoking the BSL, see the device datasheet for details). Through the BSL you can erase the MSP and program it, but no debugging can be done.

So once you got your firmware workign again, you can program this chip and use it, but for development it has become mostly useless.
