CCS/MSP430FR6043: floating value

I want to performed some operation on float variable,

but once I assign a float value to the float variable i its get changed at the time of execution

see the below screenshot

why should this happen ,I am using CCS 9.1.0 version

floats do not have 9 digits of precision on a 16 bit machine.

Check out float.h, particularly FLT_DIG. In the example in Harbison and Steele, It shows 6.

I just checked mine for an MSP432 project and promptly got confused.

It shows a FLT_DIG of 6 and a FLT_DECIMAL_DIG of 9 both with a "DECIMAL PRECISION" comment.
