MSP430FR6047: Resonator Calibration Issue

Part Number: MSP430FR6047

Hi,

I m running "UltrasonicWaterFR604x_02_20_00_04", compiled for LPM in IAR7.12, and measuring the consumption. Its is running in my own board.

It happens that after running the code to "Calibrate the Resonator against the LFXT" the power measurements get spoiled, with a 6.6Khz ripple.

The "USS_App_userConfig.u16ResonatorCalibrateInterval" is 30.

Please see pictures.

i) Can this be addressed to improper Layout of the Board? Or you have any other tip?

ii) When in the field, I do plan to perform this calibration every month. Do you agree?

my best regards,

Antonio

  • Hello Double,

    Thanks for your post.

Our expert on Ultrasonic library will look into this for you.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Tony,

am currently thinking about a measurement artifact of some kind. What kind of current measurement principle do you use on your system ?

do you synchronize the current measurements with the flow measurements somehow ?

could this have gone out of sync ?

    Johann

  • Hi Johann,

I'm using Ampere-meter to measure all current used by MSP. The pictures shows the current waveform.

There is no synchronization of current measurement with flow measurements. So nothing have gone out of sync.

This is not a measurement problem, since when Calibration is not performed, all is ok, and there is a direct relation between disturbance and first Calibration after 30 samples.

    thx

  • Hi,

Can you check on your layout about "Oscillators must be placed close to the chip and use a separated ground from the main ground plane. These components be tied to the main ground plane with a small connection"?

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao
