Hello,

Could you please advise the current consumption of I2C and UART in the titled parts?

Q1: MSP430F5237, I2C (USCI_B)

Q2: MSP430F5237, UART (USCI_A)

Q3: MSP430F5419A, I2C (USCI_B)

Q4: MSP430F5419A, UART (USCI_A)

My customer would like to estimate the whole IC current consumption.

If these values are provided, we would like to multiply a usage[%] and estimate the current for their application.

By the way I found a good table in MSP430FR2032 datasheet. We are glad if we could apply the same values to the titled parts. Do you agree ?

Hi,

1. Sorry all the test data we can offer is all in datasheet.

2. If you want to estimate the whole IC current consumption, you should consider peripherals, CPU, SVS and etc. it is no meaning to just use the current consumption of I2C and UART to evaluate the whole chip current consumption.

3. I advice you to enable these peripherals and test the whole power consumption of one chip.

4. I can test it for you, but I need one week to get the chips from store.

Hi,

It is OK, we don't have Christmas holiday.

As I checked, we have this in hand. If you are in ergent and I can test F5259 as F5237 and F5438 as F5419 for you.

If you want the right chip, you need to wait at least one week.

F5259 and F5438 are good for our case.

I found they are supersets of the target parts, F5237 and F5419.

Yes, that is why I choose these two device.

You want them all run in active mode or other low power mode? This will cause the different power consumption. Any other requirement to the code?

If you confirmed, I can do the experiment.

My customer was in a hurry, therefore I managed to execute some of MSPWare sample code and measured the current.
