Hello,

customer wants to use the TAS2559 and MSPFR2153 but needs a I2S interface to connect the audio amplifier. Can it realise with SPI and SW like described in the app note?

The lack of DMA on the FR2 series will be a headache. Some fairly careful coding will be required to keep the SPI "pipelines" full. At higher sample rates the MCU won't be able to do much else.

Most/all of the FR5 series have DMA.

It seems that way, at least as far as the DMA -- it has 3 channels (like the F5418) and triggers for all 3 (SPI-capable) eUSCIs [Ref Data Sheet (SLASE35C) Table 6-7].

Beyond that it's standard "due diligence". [Disclaimer: I haven't used the F5418 nor this AppNote.] I wasn't able to locate the associated code (.zip) to check for surprises. Based on the .pdf:

1) The F5418 has a 12-bit ADC and the FR5720 only a 10-bit.

2) It appears to rely on a 8.192MHz system clock, while the FR5720 factory-trimmed DCO selection has only 8.0MHz. I expect 2.4% makes a big difference in audio. Figure on using an external crystal (HFXT).

[Edit: Erratum DMA9 sounds like something that could get in the way. [Ref Errata Sheet (SLAZ373AE) p. 10]]

But FR5720 is limited by max 8 MHz MCLK.

you are right. Then the MSP430FR5730 should work.
