I read the instructions and saw videos about this but i didnt understand what to do after i connect it to the computer. i need help, simple explanation. I am student so i need this for my final project.

for begining, i need to know how it works and to write code in C that will turn up a led that ill connect.

Did you install CCS *and* the simplelink SDK?

I installed only CCS9 , no simplelink SDK.

how can i download simplelink SDK?

please see download links under following link:

Or you simply go to the resource explorer window in CCS and import a P401 SDK example code. If SDK is not already installed it will ask you to do so and then it goes automatically.

I tried to debug and it didnt work:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -260 @ 0x0)
An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed.
The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid
firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB
cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the
xdsdfu utility found in the .../ccs_base/common/uscif/xds110
directory of your installation. View the ReadMe.txt file there
for instructions.

Do you have changed the jumpers?

Was the launchpad a fresh one?

Is the part getting hot?

Looks somehow like your launchpad does not connect to the PC. Can you see it in the device manager when you plug it in?

i dont know what do u mean

the part wasnt getting hot.

i connected the boosterpack to the microcontroller.

I need to show in my project how the sensors effects( accelerometer, environmental sensor, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor)

how i can activate and see the changes?

i downloaded BOOSTXL-SENSORS_GUI+ET but i didnt understand what to do next.

I'm bit confused now. Do you have problems with the launchpad connecting to CCS or with a BOOSTER Pack?

Sorry I have no BOOSTXL-SENSOR kit available to try it but did you followed the example usage steps?

Example Usage

Refer to BOOSTXL-SENSORS BoosterPack Plug-in Module User’s Guide for more comprehensive detail on the demo.

Download BOOSTXL-SENSORS_GUI+ET.zip, and extract its contents.
Launch BOOSTXL-SENSORS_GUI+ET.
Plug in your MSP432P401R LaunchPad development kit with Sensors BoosterPack into a USB port.
Click the connect icon in the lower left corner of the GUI.

If needed, go to “Options” and select the proper COM Port for the Application UART and the baud rate as 115200

NOTE: For Windows, you can find the port number by opening Device Manager and looking for “XDS110 Class Application/User UART” under “Ports (COM & LPT)”. It will be listed as COMnn, where nn is the number of the port.

Click “File” and click “Program Device”. A pre-built firmware should download to the LaunchPad development kit

Yes, but i didnt understand stages 2 and 4.

I didnt find the specific icon.

I succeeded to activate this but the boostxl-sensors is not working.

the gui is not working. the part of the energytrace is working but all the other parts dont work: accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer and the rest.

how to activate them? the rate is 115200
