MSP430F55xx 65-Pin target board - Error when opening gerber file

We are having trouble opening the gerber file from the MSP430F55xx 64-Pin target board.  We extracted the file "MSP-TS430RGC64USB.brd" from this package: http://www.ti.com/litv/zip/slac374a.  When we try to open with Allegro viewer we get the following error:

Is there something wrong with this file, or does it require a specific viewer version?

  • Hi Ruben,

the .brd-file is not a GERBER-file! It is a file for Eagle PCB design software. You need to install Eagle for accessing it. The related schematic (.sch file) is enclosed in the package too.

A free version of Eagle is available here: http://www.cadsoftusa.com/index.htm.en

The GERBER-Files were in MSP-TS430RGC64USB-gerber.zip which is part of slac374a.zip too.

  • Thanks for the response.  The second part of your answer suggests that there is a true GERBER file in the slac374a.zip package, but I couldn't find it.  Do you know what the filename or file extension is for that?
