MSP430G2210: Lower frequency crystals than 32,768Hz

Hello

I want to use lower frequency crystals than the normal 32,768Hz crystals for the LF oscillator.

The minimum would be 4kHz.

Is it possible to do this and what effects would it have on normal processor operation, if any?

The processor would be run with the normal internal DCO.

My apologies - I have just realised that the G2210 doesn't have the xtal oacillator configured, even though they mention 32,768Hz crystals in the data sheet!

However, the question is still valid - just pertaining to any MSP430 device that does have the LFXT1 oscillator configured!

Yes, take FR4133 as example. For other devices, please check datasheet.
