UNIFLASH: UniFlash fails to detect target through USB hub (while IAR does OK)

Uniflash 4.6.0 and latest 5.3.1.2665 both fail to detect MSP430F5438 target if MSP-FET is attached via USB hub (3.0 hub on laptop 3.0 port); even while IAR EW430 C-Spy debugger detects and debugs target OK.

Moving MSP-FET to direct laptop USB port (non-3.0, btw), UniFlash detects OK.

Hi Pete,

we have done some test directly on USB 3.0 and we can not see any issues.

Most probably the USB Hub may create the issues.

Can you do the test directly connected to USB 3.0?

As I stated, I have USB attachment arrangement which IAR EW430 v7.12.3 can access with C-Spy OK, while UniFlash fails.

My workaround is to plug in MSP-FET directly on some other laptop port when I have to use UniFlash.

So if you don't want to look into this any further, I will drop it.

Hi Pete,

sorry if my last answer was not clear and lead to misunderstanding.

It's not the case that we don't want to look at that further.

We tested directly the MSP-FET plunged into the USB and it works, as you have seen too.

The issue is, that we can not reproduce the problem, as we don't have the USB HUB you are using. Different HUBs may behave differently.

Currently we are not working from the office due to obvious reason and therefore we can not do any further tests using different HUBs.

I hope this answer gives more clarity.
