EVM430-FR6047: Connect transducer to the board

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALLIGATOR

Hello,

I have followed the quick start guide but I am facing  problems.

1. After successfully loading the program. The led D100 is illuminated red.

2. I  have a pair of the Audiowell International LLC / US0014-001 ultrasonic flow meter, and female 100 headers. I was trying to connect the transducers with an alligator clip from the 100 female header to the transducer. Would that work?

Thank you.

  • Hello Aron,

    1. If D100 is illuminated red, there could be some issue with the HID bridge connecting properly.  First try power cycling the board and using a different USB port.  IF you still have the same issue, check in device manager and see if an error is shown.  You may need to re install the drivers if so.

    2. No, I would not recommend using clips to connect the transducers.  You want the sample impedance on both channels and alligator clips with leads is not the best option.  I recommend soldering the wires to the headers.  If you are cutting the cables, be sure that you keep both transducer cables the same length.
