CCS/MSP430F5659: "The Debug Interface to the device has been secured"

Hello,

Occasionally I get this message when trying to download a new program to be debugged. "The Debug Interface to the device has been secured" I know the fuse is not blown, I also tried checking the box in the properties, MSP430X options: that says "On connect erase user code and unlock device", It's not selectable. I have seen this in the past and I was able to erase the entire chip using an external program then it would work, but now I'm stuck in this and cant program. I"m using CC7 Version: 7.4.0.00015 .

Hi Jerry,

Can you generate a ".txt" TI hex format output file and post to this thread. If the output is short, say 30 lines or less, you can just copy and paste into the thread, else use the paper-click ICON in the toolbar in your reply window to attach the file.

Dennis,

It's a 380K program. Not sure what you're looking for in the txt file. I write to main memory and extended memory, no protected memory. BTW, I was able to get it working again by erasing all 4 BSL flash segments as well as all 4 nfo memory segments.

Yes, I was going to look to see if you might be accidentally writing to the JTAG security lock locations.
