CCS/MSP-GANG: IPE variables not readable when using MSP-GANG

Hi!

I am using IPE area with the below settings in CCS:

When I use the .txt file and specify the following settings in MSP-GANG GUI and flash a MSP430FR6047, the variables are always read as FF in the device itself. If I flash it using CCS it works fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Thibault,

If it is reading 0xFF, it could be that the password is not set correctly? Did you check the procedure in item 5. of section 2.1.1 of the MSP-GANG's User's Guide (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slau358)

Hi!

Ok I haven't specified any password in CCS. Is it the same as the JTAG password location?

The way I'm debugging now is to display the variable on a LCD, if I flash it with CCS and restart the device it shows the correct value. If I use MSP-GANG to flash, it shows 0xFF (not 3FFF). Why would you need a password for this?
