TPS54334: Using tps54334 switching power supply chip, the chip burn rate in the field is more than 30%

Part Number: TPS54334

Using tps54334 to reduce 24V to 6V, the load current is relatively small, about 24Ma.

After four months of operation, the chips were burned down, with a rate of 30%.

The burning phenomenon is: all the SW pins are short circuited to the ground, even some boot pins or VIN pins are short circuited to the ground, and some PGOOD pins are short circuited to the ground.

The accessories are schematic diagram, PCB diagram and SW oscilloscope signal.

  • Hi,

How many boards have been used in your test? The failure rate is too high, typically, I highly suspected it's a issue related to application. So we need check the sch, layout and voltage ripple under steady state and power on if there was a case to power on during the long time running.

As for the schematic, I suggest to a 100nF to filter the high frequency noise, the ripple looks obviously due to the lack of this cap. For layout, could you please provide the top layer and bot layer separately?
