Are there any plans to make TI-RTOS work for the MSP430s in the future or is that dead?

There is support and will be more in the future. Definitely not dead. The TI-RTOS and core kernel teams are constantly developing and pushing out releases every quarter. http://www.ti.com/tool/TI-RTOS-MCU

Well, I guess MSP432 is are the only MSP's that TI-RTOS currently supports. Are you wanting to see this supported in the smaller MSP430 products as well?

In the past I've used TI-RTOS on the 430s and enjoyed it. I went to start another project this past week and found that it hasn't been updated since 2016 and doesn't work with any version after CCS 6 but then that doesn't work either with the MSP430FR5994. I would love to use it again in the future, my team primarily uses MSP430s for work.

I have been using FreeRTOS with GCC. Works great on the FR5969 using excess FRAM as the heap.
