MSP430F6779: Recovering P3.0 and P3.1 pin GPIO settings when P3SEL0[1:0] is reset.

Part Number: MSP430F6779

Hello,

My customer asked me whether GPIO register bits, especially P3DIR[1:0], P3REN[1:0], and P3OUT[1:0],
keeps the values when P3SEL0[1:0] is set and reset.

Could you please advise ?

We would like to make sure that we don't have to configure P3DIR, P3REN, and P3OUT registers
when the P3SEL0[1:0] bits are reset to change the pin function from UART to GPIO.

They sometimes switch the P3.0 and P3.1 pin functions between GPIO and UART.

From the DS Ports P3 Diagram and the UG,

we think no one changes the values of P3DIR[1:0], P3REN[1:0], and P3OUT[1:0].

Therefore we would think that the former GPIO settings are reflected to the P3.0 and P3.1 when P3SEL0[1:0] is reset.
