MSP432P401R: Issue UART Communication with and without RTOS

Part Number: MSP432P401R

Hi,

I am trying to communicate to a slave using MSP432 mC. I am able to transmit & receive data using the 'uart.c' library when I run the project (modified using the example file) without OS.

When I run the project (again modified from example file) with FreeRTOS OS, I can see that data is getting transmitting using UART, by looking at the registers. However, I don't receive any input back from the slave.

I am using simple hex codes to transmit & receive through uart. Also, when I use FreeRTOS, the sample file is linked to UART.h, whereas without OS it is linked to another library uart.h.

Kindly help me understand the difference & rectify the issue. I suspect, it could be due to Baud rate differences. Howver, I am not able to figure out.

Regards,

Navin

  • Hi Navin,

I think the first problem is to check if it lies on hardware or software.

If it works fine without free-RTOS, it should be software problem. As you said the registers are not changed, I advice you to use a oscilloscope to check whether the another side have sent data.

    Eason
