EVM430-CAPMINI: No connected HID devices

Part Number: EVM430-CAPMINI

Hello,

i purchased the evaluation board and i tried to connect with it to the "captivate Design Center" software and i got the error "No connected HID devices",

I will add that the J3 jumper for RXD tTXD are on and USB jumper too, the evaluation itself is working properly but in the software i can't connect it.

Thank you, Itzik.

  • Hi Itzik,

do you have the Captivate Design Center updated to the latest version?

Is the HID of the CAPMINI showing up in the HW manager from Windows?

Which IDE are you using for debugging?

    Best regards

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

The version i installed is 1_83_00_08.

Do you mean the Device manager? if yes, so no, it's not showing up.

I dont use any IDE right now, but what IDE you recommend?

    Thanks, Itzik.

  • Hi Itzik,

as I have the device at the moment, I did the test and it works. Tested in 2 different pc's.

You should be able to see the device in the device manager "Human Interface Device"

    How I test:

    - populate the RX/TX jumper (you have done that already)

    - Set J3 to USB supply

    - In CDC, I load the CAPMINI example

    - Connect the device

With this setting you can see on the GUI the signal status.

Just followed the steps described in the users guide

Do you have anything different on your side?

    Regards

    Kostas

  • Hi Kostas,

Thank you for the answer, i did tried different PCs and it still didn't work but then after your answer it make me think i didn't check the USB cable and after i changed it, its working very well.

    Thank you.
