MSP430FR2633: MSP430FR2633 BSL Software invocation

Hello,

I understand the MSP430 supports both: SW and HW BSL invocation to flash a new FW image to it.

The question: if I'll rely on SW invocation, do I need to do any schematic changes? (Do I need to apply those couple of pulses on TEST pin and release the RST) as mentioned in the HW invocation section?

Will this schematic suffice and I can upload the FW image via UART pins?

Hello Ahmed,

Your schematic looks good if you plan to use software invocation. The TEST and RST pi sequence is not required and you have the correct pins connected for UART.

When you have a new device(blank), it will automatically power up in BSL mode as well. After your application is programmed, you can jump to BSL as described in the users guide, section 3.3.1.1.
