I must use the load capacitance for the external crystal oscillator for configuring the XCAP bit fields in the UCSCTL6 Register of this device. Those fields are used for choosing the correct combination of internally supplied capacitors to react with the load. But, the user guide for this microcontroller (SLAU208M), on page 180, fails to explain what are the bit patterns for the various loads, and tells me to refer to the device specific data sheet, but it also fails to explain the bit patterns for the various loads.
This information is found in other user guides, such as the x2xx family (SLAU144), but not in the x5xx and x6xx family guide.
Does anybody know the bit patterns and the capacitance values associated with those patterns.

As a side note, and not part of this thread, the header files for this device do not define the symbols for the UCS registers and their bit fields. I can't access those registers!
