MSP432P401R: Bootloader issues

Hi Experts

My customer is having the following issue:

We are using UART to communicate with the MSP432P401RIPZR and we cannot get the BSL to connect. We are under the impression that the chip we have is a blank/virgin chip. We are wondering if the MSP432s are shipped without the bootloader firmware loaded. From what we have read the only pins that are initially required are the UART0 Tx and RX pins (P1.2 and P1.3). We have those pins connected via an FTDI FT232RL USB to UART chip.

I have asked the customer for a schematic showing device connections and will provide that when it is available.

Can you help with these questions?

If it is an empty device, you can call the bootloader by give a reset signal or re-power on and send the BSL data in 10s.

Hi Eason

From the customer schematic it looks like they only have BSL pins P1.2 and P1.3 connected to their USB/COM port interface.

Can they perform the bootloading function using just those 2 pins?

I'll send you their schematic via email.
