Generate a PWM signal

Hi all,

I would like to order a led and a phototransistor with the PWM output of the MCU MSP430FR5949 but when I consulted the datasheeet, I saw that only the pine 11 is available for the PWM signal.

My question is therefore how to drive the led and phototransistor with a single pine.

Can you offer me an algorithm to perform the PWM function please ?  I program the MCU in C

Hello Sidya,

You can output a PWM signal on several of the device pins that a multiplexed with TimerA or TimerB outputs. They are labeled with something like TAx.1 or TBx.x, etc. Also, there are a few PWM examples available for both timers here: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ADipAN-Bo7mWfORm94KoIw__IOGqZri__LATEST

Also, the GPIO may be able to provide enough current to drive a single LED directly but if it's a high power LED or if there are multiple LEDs, then you might want to look at an LED driver to provide enough current.

Hi JD,

Do you have an example of a program to configure the push button on a board of the MSP430 MCU ? I have to write an algorithm to control the MCU startup...

In that list of examples above, there are GPIO examples xxxxxx_p1_03 and xxxxx_P1_01.
