EVM430-FR6047: Water flow sense

Hello,

I am working on a design where I need to sense water leaks. First of all, I want to know if the selected product is the most apropiate for this kind of application.

Then, I have a question regarding the parameter "Meter Constant" of the GUI. I imagine that this constant is used to calculate the Volume Flow Rate which is related with the cross section of the pipe. What is the formula to calculate the "Meter Constant" to obtain correct results in the "Volume Flow Rate" graph?

Hi Ferran,

We typically adjust this constant based on a reference meter connected in series with the device under test(DUT).

Just one more question, it is indicated to use the EVM430-FR6047 in PVC pipes non-invasively? and whats is the best configuration from the ones in the images below?

Hi Ferran,

I've found the configuration on the left(beam going through at an angle without any reflections) gives the best signal strength.
