MSP-GANG: ERROR 3: API Firmware CRC error! The API Firmware should be reloaded.

Hi,

After opening the software and connecting the MSP-GANG for the first time, I was prompted to update the firmware of the programmer, which I accepted. There was no visual feedback, so I waited a while and unplugged/replugged the programmer, which must have interrupted the firmware update process. Now the LCD is blank and the MSP-Gang software can't connect to it. I only get these error messages:

ERROR 3: API Firmware CRC error! The API Firmware should be reloaded.

ERROR 322: Command failed or not defined or Target not accessible !

How can I push the correct firmware in the GANG-Programmer?

Could you provide detail steps to show how you do with MSP-GANG? From that I maybe can find some thing help you.

Hi Gary,

1. Plug the MSP-GANG (USB, no power supply)

2. Open the MSP-GANG software

3. Connect the COM port

4. Get a prompt in the software to do a firmware upgrade

5. Accept

6. Wait a while

7. See that there is no visual feedback and that the software is unresponsive

8. Unplug the MSP-GANG

9. Replug the MSP-GANG

10. LCD is blank, error LED is ON, and the software reports bad firmware CRC.

After you do the step 10, dose the MSP-GANG can connect with the GUI? If it can, you can update the MSP-GANG firmware manually

That fixed it, thank you!

I should have investigated the MSP-GANG software a bit more before posting, but it was quite unresponsive, due to trying constantly to connect to the programmer.
