Dear TI support,

We are going to design an ultrasonic flow meter product. There seem to be two candidates: TI's MSP430FR6047 and AMS' TDC-GP30. They seem quite close in terms of functionalities and performance. By comparing the TDC-GP30, can you pls shed a light on pros and cons of the TI's MSP430FR6047?

Hi Jack,

The MSP430FR6047 uses an ADC based correlation technique which enables higher resolution measurements with best in class zero flow drift. This solution is also supported in a lower cost/memory MSP430FR6043 solution. You can learn more about this technical approach here:

The GP30 uses a timer based approach and is limited by clock resolution. You can learn more about the differences between these two approaches in section 2 of this document:
