MSP430FR2311: does it have MPY32?

The MSP430FR4xx and MSP430FR2xx Family User's Guide (SLAU445I) says in chapter 16:

The MPY32 module is implemented in all devices.

Neither the MSP430‍FR2311 datasheet nor the header/linker files mention the module or its registers anywhere. So is the User's Guide wrong?

Hi Clemens,

I am checking on this to be sure, but I think you are right that the users guide is incorrect. The datasheet of FR2311 does not include MPY in the block diagram either. I will let you know when I confirm one way or the other and update our users guide if needed.

Hello Clemens,

I have confirmed MPY32 is available in the MSP430FR235x, MSP430FR215x, MSP430FR267x, and MSP430FR247xMCUs (MSP430FR25xx and MSP430FR26xx devices are excluded in this document) on: Migrating from MSP430 F2xx and G2xx families to MSP430 FR4xx and FR2xx family (Rev. F)

MPY is not supported on FR4133, FR2111 and FR2311 devices.

We will update the users guide to make this clear. Thanks for pointing that out!
