EVM430-FR6047: Error Message after Flashing EVM

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, , MSP-FET

I have used uniflash to flash the evaluation board with the latest firmware (per instructions in the User’s Guide).  This process seemed to work.  If I then attempt to verify the image, I receive the following message: “Error! File: C:/ti/msp/UltrasonicWaterFR604x_02_40_00_00/image/MSP430FR6047EVM_USS_Water_Demo_LPM_02_40_00_00.txt: a data verification error occurred, file load failed.”  An additional error message states: “[ERROR] MSP430: File Loader: Verification failed: Values at address 0x04108 do not match Please verify target memory and memory map.”

Communication with the device using the USS GUI seems to work.  I do receive error messages using USS, as I don't have a sensor connected (on order).

  • Hi,

It might related to the uniflash version you got.

Or you can also try download the project with a CCS or IAR first.

  • I downloaded v 6.1.0 from the TI website (same link shown in your message).  The other option is a previous version (v 3.4.1) that doesn't seem to be targeted for the MSP430.

I wonder if I have a bad memory location.  Looking at the image file I downloaded, memory location 0x04108 should have been populated with 0x0001, but a memory read of the device shows 0x0000 there.  Taking a cursory look at other memory locations, everything else seems OK.

I will try your suggestion of using CCS to download a project (I'm just getting started with this board, so it might take a little while to come up to speed on the use of the tools).

  • I imported msp430fr60x7_active_02.c into CCS and built the project.  When I attempt to load and debug the project, however, I receive the "Error initializing emulator: Interface Communication error" message.  The connection is configured as TI MSP430 USB1.

  • Hi,

It sounds like the ez-FET on your board has broken. You may need a  MSP-FET or a new EVM430-FR6047 board for test.

    Best regards,
