Hello,

I recently bought a MSP-FET ( https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-FET ) from TI's website to flash firmware into MSP430F5529LP EVM. I have made the connection like below -

However When I try to load a simple blink LED program from CCS, it detects the debugger but I keep getting following error.

Could you please let me know what could be wrong with my connection?

Please note that MSP430 EVM works fine with onboard eZ-FET debugger with USB connection. I am getting error while using MSP-FET to program the image.

Please install the low level driver first

Hi Gary,

I installed the driver in my Ubuntu 18.04 Linux machine and I can see that a directory has been created at "/opt/ti/fetdrivers".

After this I restarted my computer, Opned CCS and clicked on "debug" button on CCS with "Blink" program opened. I still see the error. "MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device"

When I click on debug button on CCS, I see both "green" & "red" light on MSP-FET debugger and after getting above error I just see green light on Debugger. I do not see any power on MSP430 EVM.

Please let me know if you need any log.

What's the CCS version do you use in the Linux?

Hi Gary,

I think my problem is solved. you pointed it correctly.. I was connecting the wires wrong and I feel sorry about asking this question here.

I connected the wires correctly now and it works great. I will mark your reply as answer.
