MSP430F5419A: MSP-FET430UIF vs MSP-FET

Part Number: MSP430F5419A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Champs,

My customer is experiencing functional differences between the old and the new programmers.

When they are using the MSP-FET430UIF, the VCC_TOOL output stays at 3.3V either BP_PWRGD# is low or high. With the new MSP-FET, when BP_PWRGD is low, the VCC_TOOL output is unable to stay high even though the pull up is very weak (70K). Pins 2 and 4 are connected, pin 2 is used to indicate that the MSP_FET is connected and disable the buffers. When the BP_PWRGD# is low, the MODE LED on the MSP-FET is on indicating an error.

What could be causing this and what can be done to achieve identical functionality?

Thank you,

Michael

P.S. I can share the schematic page, just not on public forum. please let me know how to share if it would help
