CCS/MSP430F5529: MSP430f5529 power pin VCC

Part Number: MSP430F5529
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5510

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi,

I am using launchpad MSP430F5529 schematic to design a board with MSP430F5529 .In data sheet Vcc value is given as  2.2v to 3v but in launchpad design mentioned ass 3.3v...

which one is preferable?

3v mentioned in datasheet:

3.3v used in launchpad:

Thanks in advance

Thanks & Regards,

Rani

  • F5xx flash family is working on 3.3V down to 1.8V. I see that in this SBW / JTAG table is 2.2V and 3.3V note, but I didn't found any problems with using SBW interface down to min device VCC noted in datasheet (1.8V). If you need performance (25 MHz) than you should use (close to) 3.3V. If you need minimum power consumption then you should use close to 1.8V.

LP is limited to on board target device, or of (your) board but to 3.3V. It is good thing to include few parts for USB hardware module on board, because in this case it will be possible to upload firmware by TI HID BSL, not depending on device VCC.

Also, MSP430F5510 is little brother of MSP430F5529, that can save you some PCB space.
