MSP-FET: One of the connected MSP-FETs / eZ-FETs debuggers needs recovery

Hi Team,

A customer bought MSP-FET emulation tool. The MSP-FET worked perfectly until it was upgraded. He can not use the MSP-FET anymore. He received an error message "One of the connected MSP-FETs / eZ-FETs debuggers needs recovery" How can we fix this issue?

    Hi Danilo,

    I need some additional information to better understand the issue.

    • What is the OS customer is using?
    • Have tested also with a newer version of the CCS?
    • Have customer tried in another PC?
    • In the device manager is it detected as HID device?
    • is it directly connected to USB or over a Hub?

    Hi,

    I think the problem is related to CCS 9.3.0.

    I downloaded CCS 8.3.1 and connected the MSP-FET which was not working.  With this older version of CCS I was able to flash the programmer with an older code.

    Now the MSP-FET works again. With CCS 9.3.0 it works on condition of not accepting the upgrade.

    My $ 137.99 was not lost, thankfully, but having to click "ignore" every time CCS offers me an upgrade is awkward.

    Nice to hear that.

    Actually, I am not sure why the update function is not work.

    For update, it only used to support the latest MSP430 devices. For communication part, it is same.
