MSP430FR2676: nRST external pullup

Part Number: MSP430FR2676
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hi,

In the datasheet for MSP430FR2676 as well as the user guide for MSP-FET, TI recommends an external pullup resistor of 47k on the nRST line. How critical is this value? In particular, would a 40.2k resistor suffice if using an MSP-FET programmer/debugger? I am attempting to optimize the BOM count here and we already use a 40.2k resistor elsewhere in the design.

Only reason I ask in the first place is because the datasheet specs a 2.2nF capacitor on the nRST line, or a 1nF capacitor if using newer programmers like the MSP-FET, and I figured if TI calls out a change such as this then it would be good to double check about the resistor as well.

Thank you,

Carter
