MSP430FR2676: Getting Started with Captivate-FR2676

Hello All,

We are designing a battery operated device with capacitive touch, SPI and UART interfaces.

For this device we have selected MSP430FR2676 MCU and for development we have ordered Captivate-FR2676 Eval Board.

After studying the user guide we got to know that the Eval board requires a Programmer board for debugging and programming.

Please help to understand whether this programmer is mandatory or can we use any other broads programmer to program Captivate-FR2676 Eval Board,

Currently i have TM4C and CC series Launchpad and also have ordered BOOSTXL-CAPKEYPAD can i use debugger of any one of them ?

I have decide to use CCS 9.2.0 for development, and as i am new to MSP430 environment i am referring the training material from the given below links, 

So i would request you to please verify whether i am on correct page ?, with respect to my selected MCU (i.e., MSP430FR2676) If not please help me with the right training material.

Please help me with the same at the earliest

    CAPTIVATE-PGMR //Programmer/debugger for captivate mcu

    CAPTIVATE-FR2676 // MCU board

    CAPTIVATE-BSWP or others. // touch board.

    Hello All,

    Thank you for your suggestion,

    I have already purchased Captivate-FR2676 board, however i do not have CAPTIVATE-PGMR.

    When i study the user guide for Captivate-FR2676 board, i see that there are JTAG pins on the programmer connector.

    I have Tm4C129, TM4C123, CC3200 and MSP432 devlopement boards so can i use the JTAG debugger of the any of these boards to debug the Captivate-FR2676 board.

    Please help me with your suggestion.

    HI, 

    I highly recommend you to purchase the CAPTIVATE-PGMR. Only with it, you can use the CapTIvate™ Design Center. Otherwise, you need tune the parameters with modifying the sw which would be difficult. 

    The PGMR interface has the SBW interface. You can program the FR2676 through the SBW interface from MSP-FET. 

    The TIVA and MSP432 debugger cannot support the MSP430.
