Working with LEDs

I have been working with the Launchpad and recently got an MSP-EXP430FG4618 the experimenter board.  I was hoping someone might tell me how to understand which pins right what.  On the launchpad it's label P1.0 is LED1 and P1.6 is LED but on this board I'm not so fortunate.  I was able to find example code that lights up LED4 so I know its P5.1 but there has to be a more intelligent way to do this. =) I did a search through the user guide for P5OUT seeing if it said anything specific but it just says this for digital i/o so I assume this is just a general manual for the chip and I can't seem to find anything more specific to the board.  I'm working on a senior design project and it's suppose to be a group project but some how I showed up to the meeting and they handed me the device and said figure it out....So I'm trying =) Thanks ahead of time for any help.
