MSP430FR6047: UART logic high level

Part Number: MSP430FR6047

Hi,

I am enabling a GPIO as a UART port and the RX input is max 2V. In this case the MSP did not detect UART ASCII input. When i increased this voltage then the MSP did detect the input ok. Can you let me know what the minimum voltage level for a "high" value here will be for VDD ~3.3V?

Thanks,

Jose

  • The Positive-going input threshold voltage specification can be found in 8.13.5.1 of the datasheet.  At 3V, 2.25V is the highest voltage that would be required to detect a "high".  The minimum is 1.65V.  You can interpret this to mean that across device variations and over the recommended operation conditions, this range will be seen among parts, so you want to design to the worst case scenario, which is 2.25V.
