MSP430F47177 and LM3S9790 design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F47177

Hello,

Can you pls advise do you have any concern for the below design using MSP430F47177 and LM3S9790

The design is to use MSP430F47177 as a sampling front end, owing to its simultaneous triggering and PGA capabilities. This data will then be compressed and the basic parameters like RMS voltage, RMS current and phase relationship established. Such data will then be sent out to the LM3S9790 for FFT (harmonics calculation) and storage on a Micro-SD card. As necessary, the data can be sent out using the UART (Modbus RTU over RS-232 / RS-485) as well as Ethernet interfaces. There will also be an option to transfer the logs to a USB Mass Storage Device (a.k.a. thumb drive) or have the meter enumerate as a USB Communications Device Class instrument. Such capabilities coupled with a colour touch-screen LCD will allow us to do a one-time hardware design and cross-sell / up-sell based on features and value-added services.

Thanks,Joy
