MSP-TS432PZ100: MSP-TS432PZ100 LDO doesn't work

Part Number: MSP-TS432PZ100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SEGGER, CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I received an MSP-TS432PZ100 socket board but it doesn't work.  I have tried to test with MSP432P4111 and MSP432P401R. I use Segger J-Link Pro debugger probe and power the board from the debugger(Pin 19, 5V).  The LDO SEL was used, which Pin2 and Pin3 of JP6 were connected. Finally, I checked the power on the Pin 13 of the socket, it is not a 3.3V but a 5.0V.  That means the LDO doesn't work, and it makes that chips don't work anymore. I would like to know is this a malfunction of the MSP-TS432PZ100 socket board? Or how to solve this problem?  Thank you.

Sunglin.

  • Hello,

Can you confirm the settings as described here: .

    Regards,

  • Hi Chris,

The version of my MSP-TS432PZ100 is V1.3.  I do have checked the jumper settings according to Table 1-9 and Table 1-10, which was mentioned in my post.

    Regards,

    Sung-Lin Chen.

  • In table 1-10, it says to close 2-3.  However, if you look at the schematic, that would bypass the 5V to Vcc as you have described.  I will request that this be fixed in the documentation.

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

Thank you for your information. TI's datasheet gives an wrong information, this could make customer's MCUs get damaged. Please ask TI's team to correct it as soon as possible. Thank you again.

    Best regards,

    Sunglin.
  • Hi Chris,

If I use SEGGER J-Link Pro to debug the kit, what is the exact position of SW3, SW4, SW5, and SW6 ?  Now, I set all of them in ON state, but CCS always shows a error message which is attached in the follows,

Do you have any idea of it?

    Sunglin.

  • From the CCS general properties which connection are you selecting?

    Regards,

    Chris

  • Hi Chris,

I do select connection as "SEGGER J-Link Emullator", but the Verify...  button is disabled.  In addition, I can't install SEGGER J-Link from CCS Add-ons of App Center. The error message is as follows,

Did you select support for J-Link emulator when you initially installed CCS? If not, you can install support for it into your existing CCS by following the steps in the section "Changing the Code Composer Studio Installation" of this document.

If you already have support for it and were trying to update it from CCS App Center, an alternate way of updating is to go to menu Help->Check for Updates. If there are updates available for the J-link driver it will appear there and you can update from there.

  • Hi AartiG,

I uninstalled and reinstalled it, then it works now.  Thank you very much.
