I managed to procure some of these.
2 questions:
1) do these parts look legit?
The font is different.
2) Where is the information about part marking?

Tim,
We have a process for this outside of e2e. Please see information below and form to submit.
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/anti-counterfeit.html
I will close here on e2e.

Ryan
The answer did not resolve question 2.
Also, the anti-counterfeit procedure is not helpful in these trying times.
Many of us are trying our best to deal with these procurement problems. Our choices are limited. We're just asking for a bit of help.
Tim,
I completely understand which is why I directed you to the website. I don't have access to the exact font we use to mark our devices and the device is built in at least two different facilities that could have different laser etching tools.
By filling out the form and submitting the pictures as directed, an expert will get back to you and let you know if it is a legitimate part. I am sorry, but that is the process we have in place.
Regards,
Ryan
Tim,
All we have is this tool which will return DRV8703-Q1.
https://www.ti.com/packaging/docs/partlookup.tsp#divline
No TI datasheet, to my knowledge, has the part marking information in it. I think this would make it even easier for people to counterfeit if we published this information. Just my thinking.

Ryan
I got another batch of parts in. The font is the same as the picture on right. Good.
It has a "G3" instead of G4, what does that signify?
The code after the "TI" is different, I assume a date code or something.
The code before the G3 is also different, again I assume date code or something.
I have not heard back from counterfeit group. Nothing.
Tim,
"G3" denotes that the plating on the leads is "Matte Sn". Matte Tin.
"G4" denotes that the plating on the leads is "NiPdAu". Nickel Palladium Gold.
Both are approved "lead free" finishes.
https://www.ti.com/support-quality/environmental-info/lead-finish-tin-plating.html
Code after TI is date code, correct. The other info is details on the lot information.
Sounds like you are OK with the new samples you just received.

Ryan
