DRV8899-Q1: Select solution

Part Number: DRV8899-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8436, , DRV8434S

Dear team

1. The customer would like to know, is the main difference between DRV8899-Q1 and DRV8436 SPI interface ?

2. Does DRV8899 need to use SPI for initial?

3. Does DRV8436 only need M0/M1 hardware pin config, SW only need to control step /dir/enable pins?

Many thanks

  • Denny,

There is no DRV8436 SPI interface device. DRV8434S has the SPI interface which can support high voltage and high current than DRV8899's. Also, DRV8434S can support the stall detection function.

    Yes.DRV8899 needs the SPI command.

Yes. DRV8436 only need hardware pin config, the customer SW  needs to control step /dir/enable pins and other hardware pins if they want to change during the operating, such as: M0, M1... You can find more detail from the datasheet.
