DRV8353: Difference between the DRV8350FH and the DRV8353H

Part Number: DRV8353
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8350

Hi Team,

May I ask for your confirmation? Our customer is currently using the DRV8353H in their design but due to supply issue they are looking to change to the DRV8350FH.
Other than the lack of current shunt amplifiers and package. Is there a functional difference between these two ICs? We hope to received your confirmation. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Gerald

  • Hello Gerald,

Thanks for posting to the MD forum. The DRV8350FH is a function safety device, like you mentioned all DRV8350 devices do not include the current shunt amplifiers as found in the DRV8353 variant. Functionally, the devices are similar enough where you may replace a device with the other on your design but keep in mind that the replacement is not pin to pin compatible since there are package differences between DRV8353H and DRV8350FH devices. The DRV8353FH is P2P compatible with the DRV8353H but unfortunately is also out of stock at the moment.

    I hope this helps!

    Best,

    Isaac
