The fact that FAULT goes low for a few 100 microseconds when SLEEP goes from low->high is still not indicated in the datasheet.
The datasheet says outputs are not changed for <1ms after waking up, but that is simply not true.
Also on page 41,
CPOL=0, CPHA=0
should be
CPOL=0, CPHA=1
