Dear Sir or Madam,
We have bought your DRV8701EVM board and I am now trying to install or start the corresponding software. Unfortunately, there is a problem.
I have copied the GUI folder according to the instructions in chapter 2.1 (page 4 in the DRV8701 Evaluation Module User's Guide).
When I start the DRV9701EVM_GUIv1.0.exe I get the following error message:
HTTP ERROR: 404
Problem accessing /gc/webapp0/DRV8701EVM_GUIv1.0/lib/davinci.gc_1_5/WebContent/gc/templates/program_uart/index.html. Reason:
Not Found
Another hint. When unpacking the ZIP folder slvc615 under 7zip I get the warning "There is still data behind the main data".
The modem_m3 example can be started without problems. I therefore assume that I have installed the GUI Composer Runtime software correctly.
Thank you very much for your help and best regards,
Michael Robrecht
Hello Michael,
I believe your company's firewall may be causing issues with the GUI. Is it possible to install on a personal PC to confirm if this is the root cause?

Hello Pablo,
I have installed the software on my private PC and get the same error. I have also asked a colleague to install the software. The same problem occurs on his computer too!
regards,
Michael
Michael,
I think the problem here may be the GUI application itself not working right for some reason. I will try to unistall my GUI app and reinstall to check if I get the same error. I will let you know within 24 hours.
Thanks,
Pablo Armet
Michael,
We still need more time. I had to order more EVMs from our distribution center. The EVMs will be arriving to me in one more day. I will let you know if I experience the same errors you have.

Pablo Armet
Hi Michael
Can you check this directory on your computer. Does it match what you see on the image below?
I ordered an EVM and asked a new employee who has not installed this GUI before to install it using the user's guide instructions. He was able to install and open it just fine.

Pablo Armet
Michael,
Thanks for confirming. This indicates you have installed the GUI correctly.
I checked about the error you got when unzipping the zip file. I found this information here:https://superuser.com/questions/1153751/what-does-there-are-some-data-after-the-end-of-the-payload-data-mean
Did you use 7zip to unpack zip folder? Apparently this is a 7zip issue. Can you try to do a complete uninstall of the GUI and reinstall the GUI. Use the default windows unpacker to unzip the folder instead.

Pablo Armet
Hello Pablo,
I have now installed the latest version of TI GUI Composer (6.2.0.1) and unpacked the slvc615 file directly under Windows. Now I can start the demo software.
Thanks for your help and regards
Michael
Michael,
Great! I'm glad it is working now.
I think somehow using 7zip to unpack did not unpack all of the data.

Pablo Armet
