LMD18200: What is the difference between LMD18200T/LF14 vs LMD18200T/NOPB?

Part Number: LMD18200

Hello!

Can you help confirm that the only difference between LMD18200T/LF14 vs LMD18200T/NOPB is the tube package size that they come in and the actual parts are the same?

It is strange to me that when I search one part in TI.com the other does not pop up as the same device in an alt carrier. I also don’t see a temp rating on the LMD18200T/LF14. I just wanted to confirm 100% before choosing a part.

  • Hey Jennifer,

The LF14 has the pins turned to a right-angle so that the LMD18200T can use the PCB as a heatsink(left image below).  The NOPB package has the device sticking up vertically from the PCB for use with an external heatsink (right image below).  Both packages are the RoHS compliant versions of the LMD18200.

The operating temperature for the LF14 package should also be -40°C to 125°C.

This is a very old part and I highly recommend looking into a more recent motor driver replacement such as the DRV8251A for cost savings and improved performance.

    Regards,

    Jacob
