DRV8889-Q1: When the motor is powered on for the first time, the current output is extremely large, resulting in very loud noise.

Part Number: DRV8889-Q1

Hi Team,

When the customer uses the same configuration input to DRV8889-Q1, including SPI register configuration, VREF (35%), STEP transmission frequency configuration, etc., the first movement output of the motor will be more than 2.5 times after the software is powered on for the first time. The current causes the motor to make very loud noise. May I know what is the reason?

In the figure below, a total of five movement processes occurred. The VREF (blue line) input is the same throughout the process. The amplitude of AOUT1 for the first time is nearly twice that of the next one, but the frequency of the first, second and last time is the same.

What could cause this?

Regards,

Annie
