DRV8353R: GLC and SPC getting shorted with 48V Motor

There are a variety of conditions that may cause this issue, all related to the absolute maximum ratings of the device pins. First, make sure that none of the voltages on the GLC and SPC pins violate the absolute maximum ratings that are provided in table 7.1 of the datasheet. Second, follow these two app notes on best layout practices and system design considerations to avoid spiking (from inductive node ringing or dv/dt coupling) that may cause unexpected transients which violate the ratings on these pins: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva959b/slva959b.pdf (for layout) and https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slvaf66/slvaf66.pdf?ts=1719419644844 (for system design). I would particularly make sure that ringing on any node is avoided through proper PCB routing, slower slew rates on the gate voltage (by reducing gate drive current), and RC snubber circuits around the MOSFETs. A passive gate to source resistor may also help prevent shorting between the gate and source pins by providing a reference between them.
