From the Link which you've provided i was able to download the firmware for the 8316A, BTW still not fixed in the download page.

But after flashing this above mentioined firmware on my MCT8318AEVM, I'm getting errors such as Communication with Target Filed: Target Failed to read 0x20AA
Hardware not Connected. Failed to connect to device MSP430FR2355.
The activity light was briefly on.

I'm not able to flash communicate the MCT GUI, WEB or Offiline GUI, nothing works.

Resonse would be much appreciated.

Hi Aravinth,

Can you share image of the EVM, I want to first verify about jumper placement.

Can you confirm from device manager, where EVM is detected when connected through USB?

The FW image which you have used is proper, which LED is glowing when you connect USB? D6 or D7?

Hi,
All Jumpers are in position except for the MSP_CLK and MSP_STE and VBK, All are NC pins.

The Fault Light comes at ever 5 seconds and off for 5 seconds.
EVM is Getting Detected at COM 20.
Firmware is for MCx8316A, should work fine I guess.

Eventually this Not Connected Error Pops up.

Regarding the LED only D6 lights up.
Even it blinks some time, but mostly solid.

D7 doesnt lights up, tested with multimeter the LED's are good.

Hi Aravinth,

Board configuration is fine.

Just to verify again, can you use Uniflash tool and download the hex image only without code composer and compilation.

You can follow below link, even though MCT8316A not mentioned here, the FW image is same for MCT8316A board.

Image name as shown below

Hello, I've followed the steps from the link mentioned above.

Program is flashed and all good,
D6 LED lights up immediately after connecting the USB to MCT Eval Board.
But I'm still not able to communicate with the MCT8316A on my Eval Board.

Volage for MCT side is set for 18V and Current Limited to 200mA.
The MCT Side never draws more 50-80mA.
I believe there's no issue with the MCT.

Also I'm able to Program the MSP via ez-FET.

I'm suspecting the FTDI IC on the Eval board, MSP side.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I've tried flashing the 2273.EEPROM_Program_MCF8316A_MSP-EXP430FR2355.zip
[FAQ] Program MCx BLDC motor driver through I2C using MSP430 LaunchPad - Motor drivers forum - Motor drivers - TI E2E support forums

Changed the Target Address to 0x01 to 0x00 , Which is for MCT8316A I believe.
And Flashed the default program. What else needs to be changed and where to verify the changes , such as arraysize and regmap.

After changing the target address to 0x00 and flashed the Launchpad and followed the step mentioned in the above mentioned link.
And after pressing the S1 button in launchpad , Red Led lights up immediately within a second. Which basically means the EEPROM is not programmed.

Kindly advise.
