Hello,
i try to use the DRV8837 for a measurement system to revert the direction of current. However at times the overcurrent protection of the DRV8837 trips at current spikes.I think I understand the underlying problem - however for proper dimensioningI would need more information regarding the overcurrent protection like maximum tolerable overcurrent time. Are there any additional information/specs besides the datasheet available?
Best Regards
Norman Werner
Norman,
There are 2 pieces of information that would be helpful to you.
1) The deglitch time, or time before OCP is triggered after OCP level (in datasheet) is exceeded, is maximum of 1.25us. A small window.
2) The other key piece of information is the retry time between an OCP event and the time when the driver re-enables the outputs. This is ~1ms.
