Jumpy motor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301, TMS320F28069M

Hello ti,

I am trying to tune the operation of a Pancake BLDC Motor, it was designed for operation in a burshless gimbal, from the hobby industry, hence not the greatest quality. However these motor have been used to precisely control balance of a camera. The product is listed bellow.

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__45368__Turnigy_HD_5206_Brushless_Gimbal_Motor_BLDC_.html

I have had some success in turning it to run reasonably well, however it still has a jump in operation, a glitch if you will while spinning, making it unstable and prone to jump out of my hand while spinning.

Next I am trying to achieve very slow rotations and later Gimbal operation but at the moment that seems a long way off if i can't even have it run smoothly at speed

I'm using the C2000 LaunchpadXL TMS320F28069M with a DRV8301

My questions: how can i diagnose this glitch? And remove it ?

Then how can i get this motor moving as desired very slowly, with ether an Instaspin-FOC solution or an Instaspin-Motion?

Thanks James
